Who Won the Super Bowl? Let the Data Decide!
This Love Data Week, we’re bringing data curiosity to campus in a fun and interactive way—no spreadsheets required!
What is Love Data Week?
Love Data Week is an international celebration of data, created by data professionals to raise awareness about how we collect, use, and interpret data in our daily lives. Held every February on the week of Valentine’s Day, the event highlights the importance of data literacy, management, and sharing across disciplines. Originally founded in 2016 by Heather Coates at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), the week has grown into a global movement, with libraries, universities, and research institutions hosting events that make data more approachable and engaging.
At the University Libraries, we’re marking the occasion by inviting students to think critically about how data tells a story, even in unexpected places.
Join the Conversation: Who Performed Best at the Super Bowl?
Instead of traditional data workshops, we’ve set up a whiteboard poll at the entrance of the library with one simple question: Who performed better at the Super Bowl? Whether you’re a football fan or just here for the halftime show, you can cast your vote for: Chiefs, Eagles, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, or “I didn’t watch it”
The results? A snapshot of campus opinions, visualized through data collection in its simplest form. Stop by, add your vote, and see how your response compares to others!
Why Does This Matter?
Data isn’t just about numbers in spreadsheets – it’s about the way we track trends, make decisions, and shape conversations. Whether it’s sports stats, streaming trends, or survey results, data is all around us. Love Data Week encourages us to think critically about how data is collected, what it represents, and how we can use it responsibly.

Wrapping Up Love Data Week: The Votes Are In!
As Love Data Week comes to a close on this Valentine’s Day, we want to thank everyone who stopped by the library and participated in our interactive data poll! Over the past week, we asked you: “Who performed better at the Super Bowl?”
The results are in, and it’s clear that our campus had strong opinions – especially about the halftime performances! Here’s how the votes broke down:
- Chiefs: 1 vote
- Eagles: 54 votes
- Kendrick Lamar: 99 votes
- SZA: 58 votes
- “I didn’t watch it”: 40 votes
Check out the chart below to see the final breakdown of responses!
